Dear Father,
The most remarkable thing happened to me at the Shrine of Dreams. As I prayed and dipped my hand into the font of dreams, I was overtaken with a wonderful vision …
The world around me grew dark and unfocused. A butterfly appeared just ahead of me, its pink wings gracefully fanned the air. Soon the beautiful creature exploded in a brief flurry of colored petals that gradually reformed into still more butterflies of every color imaginable. At last the image faded, leaving only vivid memories of the spectacular display.
Then I opened my eyes to the wonder of it all. I bowed my head once more to offer my gratefulness for the experience, and there, laying upon the ground next to me was a pink butterfly wing, just like the one that led me in the vision! It was not part of the visionary experience at all, it was real. I picked it up, all the more in wonder, and tears came to my eyes.
I sought the advice of Miss Katie, one of His clerics here, and she, too, had this happen to her. But Father, she is one devoted solely to His work! I’d expect her to.
I feel ever so blessed, and keep the wing tucked away in a special place with me.
Miss Katie did not seem to think it meant anything more than a visible token of the Lord of Dreams’ favor. I wonder if you can tell me if it signifies anything special I should prepare for. Every time I think of the wing, I feel … cherished.
I miss you being near enough to go to when I need advice, when I need wisdom, when I just need to talk.
