(23 Eorgaen 5116, Wehnimer’s Landing)
My dearest, Aetheri,
I know you cannot receive letters at sea, but I will write and save them for you. There is already so much I will never remember to tell you.
My thoughts turn constantly to you. I daydream of your eyes. I hear your voice in the melodies of my dreams. Your softest caress is upon the breeze, and I remember how warm you are next to me. I miss you, Sweetie.
I saw a penguin the other day out of the corner of my eye. Clinging to a hope, I turned quickly, wishing you were home. But it was not Pelthie. I steeled my disappointment for the moment, saving it until my pillow could bear the ache within me.
I tarried in the Landing after the auction, and am writing to you from there. It keeps me busier here. Mister Blade Aurach suggested last time I was here that the Kraggly Slopes might be a good place for me to hunt. And it is. I can get through an entire hunt so much faster than Temple Wyneb, and at considerable less peril. I have been hunting with a few people while in the Landing, too.
I can smell the sea here. I imagine that it makes you somehow closer to me.
The snowstorm has gone on for days, for weeks. Everything is frozen, with drifts everywhere. It brings a quiet to everything. I am sure that it has delayed you, too. I pray for your safety morn and night. I cannot wait to wrap my arms around you, love.
If I am fortunate tonight, I will meet you in my dreams. May the Lord of Dreams bless us both with such a thing.
Until Eternity’s End,
I am yours.
~L.
