At first I thought it was homesickness. I wake up each day in tears. Even before that sorry encounter with whatshisname. I know it is unrelated to that.
There are the nightmares, but they are frightening. In fact, I am surprised neighbors have not called the Town Guards after some particularly loud screams. But these tears are not of fear, and they do not have the feel of the nightmares with them.
They are tender, but heavy. They seem to carry the weight of ages with them, sometimes I feel it must be the weight of Elanthia itself. They concern me more than the bad dreams, for they have no name.
Do I need to seek out a cleric of Ronan? Do I need to fast and pray until I can hear their song? Is it a quest? Is it a test? Am I failing? Again?
They make me quiet during waking moments when I sense them near. I dare not breathe, let alone speak, for fear they flee. Or perhaps in fear they tarry.
